Step 1. Pre-screening Tests
Our comprehensive eye examination begins with a complete medical history and numerous pre-screening tests which include visual acuity, depth perception, color vision, blood pressure, resting pulse, peripheral vision screen.
Step 2. Optomap Retinal Exam (optional)

The Optomap is a large panoramic digital camera that is designed to obtain an image of the inside of the eye without pupil dilation. It also uses scanning light lasers to look at different levels of the retina which can be very helpful in diagnosing, managing and following many eye conditions.
Step 3. Vision & Eye Health Analysis

Once these screening tests are complete, Dr. Lary will continue with the remainder of the exam to determine vision and eye health needs. Glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment are just a few of the conditions that are tested for.
Step 4. Extra Testing

Some eye conditions, such as glaucoma and macula degeneration required specialized equipment to test for diagnosis and treatment. Our office has the latest technology such as Ocular Coherent Tomography (infrared scan of the retina and optic nerve). Visual Field tests (checks for side vision abnormalities), pachymetry (ultrasound for corneal thickness), tonometry (measures intraocular pressure) and more.
